Aflac today announced that it now offers voluntary group benefits to companies with as few as 100 employees. The move allows Aflac, which recently acquired group benefits provider Continental American Insurance Company, now operating under the Aflac brand, to offer both individual and group plans to a wider range of employers at no direct cost — providing employees with additional choices for their benefits packages.
"While voluntary group benefits have traditionally been offered to large companies, we believe that offering group products, alongside our individual products, to small and mid-size companies will give them even more options to provide their employees with robust benefits packages," said President .
Aflac's expansion into the group product market means companies with just 100 employees can now offer the insurer's suite of group and individual voluntary plans, including accident, critical illness, disability and life insurance policies. In addition, employers can benefit from Aflac's value-added services, such as cafeteria plans, retirement plan services, innovative enrollment options and administrative solutions that offer cost and tax savings for both employers and employees.
