Telunjuk: A New Indonesian Product Search Engine for Gadgets, Plane Tickets
Telunjuk launched its startup website at an event at Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta, a few days ago. Aiming to help its users to compare prices when they are shopping for gadgets or looking for plane tickets, this site could also be a friend for shoppers who’re browsing product specs, or who want to find something at a desired price on any online store.
With auto crawling technology to collect the data, Telunjuk provides the info in real-time to its users, covering numerous Indonesian e-commerce sites. The product search engine covers laptops, mobile phones, and airline tickets. One of the main features is PriceAlert which will send a notification to shoppers when the desired product’s price decreases to be within range of the shoppers’ budget.
Redya Febriyanto (pictured above), CEO of PT. Telunjuk Komputasi Indonesia, said at the launch:

"We are very excited to have officially launched Telunjuk.com today to support higher quality shopping […] Telunjuk.com will provide product recommendations, pricing, and shopping places that suit shoppers’ needs, and do it easily and quickly. Previously, shoppers needed to spend hours comparing products on many site to find the desired product. That is why we present this solution."
You can access the main website and mobile site to browse the three categories in full, or searches for the cheapest airfare can be done via Twitter by sending a tweet containing the departure and arrival cities and the date, such as: @telunjukdotcom Jakarta Shanghai March 25. In the future, Telunjuk will be accessible via its own mobile apps for Blackberry, Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
Although PriceArea is another startup doing pretty much the same thing, Telunjuk can add greater competition in this sector. Telunjuk is the second startup under the guidance of Project Eden to have officially launched, after the SpotDokter launch a few weeks ago. This is a great sign that Project Eden is now getting up to speed after months without any real activity. Project Eden is also planning to open its co-working space to the public so it can be a creative hub among the nation’s startup founders.
