マニュアルエアコンでは、温度調整レバーの設定とエアミックスドアが連携している。
オートエアコンでは、外気温、日射量、室内温度、乗員が設定する室温設定値から、吹出温度の目標値と風量と吹出口を選択する。
夏季の冷房開始時には、エアコンシステムでの最低温度になるようにエアミックスドアは冷風側にMAXとなり、ヒータコアへ流れる空調風をゼロにする。
さらに最大風量をおこなうため、ブロワファンへの印加電圧は最大（約14V）になる。
この時の吹出口は、乗員への胸元だけになる。
