I put top priority on whether it is interesting or not in selecting a book, and do not mind a message sent from an author to the readers. In other words, I read "an interesting book that does not have many messages" and "an interesting book that has many messages".
I found that the author has some conflicts at his or her mind that the readers including me cannnot imagine if I look from the viewpoint of the author.
As I started to think about it, I started to be concerned about the background of the author.

When I select a book, the first criteria I apply is simply “whether it seems interesting or not” and I may not pay attention to the message the author is conveying to the readers. In short, I end up reading works that “do not contain much of a message, but are interesting” and “contain a message, and are yet interesting”. Upon examination from the author’s point of view, it seems like a conflict takes place that is unimaginable to someone like me who has only taken the reader’s perspective. When I start thinking about such concepts, I gradually developed an interest in the author’s background.

When i choose the books, at first "is it fun or not", and i don't care the messages which are put that authors want to comvey to readers.
In fact, I read the books without knowing, "who please me and who have a few message" and "who please and I feel the author's messages"
It seem that they have a tangle for these two difference factors judging from the author's angle, that i can't imagine like a reader.
So I'm interested increasingly in the author's backgrounds after thinking of these difference factor when I choose the books.
