In the coming Spring, Tōkaidō Shinkansen (between Tokyo Station and Shin-Ōsaka Station) will upgrade its top speed, for the first time in the last 23 years, into 285 km/h. Since there are many curves on this railway, it has been impossible to excel the 270km/h which Shinkansen "Nozomi" achieved in 1992. The first day of the next month is their 50th anniversary. Their record-breaking is the result of their continuous pursuit of "the technique to curve well and stop quickly".

The Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train (Tokyo - Shin-Osaka) will gain the highest speed at 285 km/h for 23 years next spring. Because of the many curves on the track, the highest speed has remained 270 km/h since the train "Nozomi" appeared in 1992.
It will be the 50 year anniversary as of 1st of next month. Breaking this record is a tribute to the pursuit of "the technology of turning smoothly and stop rapidly."
