I think the technological strength of Japan is really great. As a matter of fact, the greatness of Japan's technology is does not come from world-wide well known manufacturers.
It comes from Japan's smaller companies. In Tokyo there are areas with many small factories, but even now, when cutting the F1 engine, using high-precision cutting tools, a small factory of 3 or less workers makes it.
This is the root of Japan's technological strength.
But, there are also areas in which Japanese people are less advanced compared to people from all over the world. Of course, and that includes me.. it's in the language ability, isn't it. Especially the speaking ability.

I think Japan’s technology is really amazing. In fact, the greatness of Japanese technology is not due to well-known world's leading manufacturers, but thanks to small and medium enterprises.
In Tokyo, there is an area which has many town factories. Still now, cutting knives to cut F1 engines are manufactured in a small town factory with only three craftmen. Here is the root of Japanese technology.
However, I understand a fundamental problem of Japanese technological capacities. That is, of course,.... poor language skills of people, including me. In particular, conversation skills.
