SoundGecko, a text-to-transcription service that allows users to listen to news, web pages and documents on the go, has just pushed out a revamped version of their iOS app.

SoundGecko was founded by Ed Hooper, Andrew Armstrong, and Long Zheng, and was officially launched in July 2012. The newly revamped version of the SoundGecko iOS app features a completely redesigned user interface. It also includes the ability to browse content by categories and interests, as well as the option to play headlines only, instead of the full article. Andrew Armstrong, the CTO of 121Cast, which is the company behind SoundGecko, said that the update incorporates feedback received about the first version of the app to deliver instant access to content and a more polished and user-friendly experience in version 2.0.

SoundGecko received the approval from investors when they were accepted into the first batch of Optus Innov8 Seed Program, which saw them securing a total of AU$250,000 in November 2012. The seed round was led by SingTel Innov8 and co-invested by Adventure Capital.
