「スポーツ振興賞」はスポーツツーリズムやスポーツによるまちづくりに貢献した団体・グループ・企業を表彰する制度。平成20年度にスポーツ健康産業団体連合会と日本スポーツツーリズム推進機構が「地域・スポーツ振興賞」として創設し、平成24年度から名称を「スポーツ振興賞」として改称している。

また、授賞式後には受賞者による発表とディスカッションが行なわれ、スポーツを活用した地域を活性化する手法が披露された。
