Should you tighten the oil filter by hand or with the wrench?

Four numbers 1 to 4 are printed around the outside of the filter : they serve as reference mark during tightening

If your filter does not have these 4 marks, you can write 4 numbers around the outside of the filter

In the video, the number 4 is written at the top, tighten the filter until the mark 3 comes around to the top

If the filter is not very accessible, the hand tightening will not be possible

If you don't tighten enough, you might lose oil with the engine running

If you tighten too much, it will be difficult to unscrew at the next replacement

It does not matter that you tighten by hand or with the wrench, the key is to tighten 3/4 turn after contact
