The army brought them in from France as modern attire, prior to that, we used waraji (straw sandals) till shoes were introduced.

The kanji for waraji is 草鞋. This was also read as kutsu and we have a different kanji for western shoes.

These were made from the straw crops , primarily the rice plant.
Rice represents what derives from crops.

The culture which has developed with rice farming is called rice culture.

I had previously ordered ○ and ○, they are stands (for a double) and a double size hammock and therefore I am assuming there are no issues with its set up. I have received feedback from a customer advising that the hammock was too short and did not reach the stand, could this ever be possible?

On a separate note, I had previously advised that the hammock was featured in a magazine, in fact it was not a magazine but it was featured in an interior furniture website, very well known in Japan. I have attached the URL for your reference.
