WeChat Public Account Development Service Weixinhai Secures $13 million Funding

In August 2012 WeChat launched public/official account system which would later be divided into two, Subscription Accounts and Service Accounts — the difference is the latter have more capabilities such as making payments with WeChat Payment. Businesses or public organizations thus can do CRM, marketing, or even sell goods on WeChat. It is reported that there have been some 3 million such accounts on WeChat.

Founded in December 2012 — a couple of months after WeChat launched the public account system, Weixinhai claims that some 10 thousand clients are added everyday, making RMB30 million in monthly revenue. The company is closing a RMB80 million (USD13 mn) round of funding, according to Cheng Xiaoyong, CEO of Weixinhai.

Candy Crush Saga hits China with upcoming tie-in on Tencent’s WeChat

Fasten your seatbelts and get out your toothbrushes, because an avalanche of hard candy is about to hit China. The Wall Street Journal just reported that Candy Crush Saga, the mega-hit mobile game made by London-based King Digital Entertainment, will be integrated into Tencent’s wildly popular WeChat messaging app. Tencent tells Tech In Asia that the localized game will be released this summer.

Candy Crush Saga is already available for download in China through the App Store and some domestic Android app stores, including Baidu’s. However, Chinese versions of Candy Crush don’t contain the social sharing features that helped the game go viral in international markets. For what it’s worth, the Candy Crush Saga in the Baidu App Store isn’t localized beyond a Chinese title, and touts the app’s integration with Facebook – not exactly something to brag about if you’re looking to win over Chinese consumers.

すでにCandy Crush SagaはApp Storeや、Baiduなどの一部の国内 Androidアプリストアからダウンロード可能である。しかし中国語版Candy Crushは、このゲームが国際市場に急速に広まるのに一役買ったソーシャルシェアの目玉商品には含まれていない。あくまで個人的な意見だが[or真偽のほどは分からないが]、BaiduのアプリストアではCandy Crush Saga のタイトルを中国語にローカライズするどころか、Facebookのアプリにへの連携を勧めており、必ずしも中国の消費者を獲得しようとしている（か否かという）ことを誇示しているものとは言えない。

To adjust the tension of the neck, locate the bottom circular cover on the right side of the unit. Pop out the cover using a flat-head screwdriver. The report, Nitrogen on the Table, examined the impacts that changes in consumer food habits would have on nitrogen emissions from livestock.

It said a 50% cut in meat and dairy intake would cut greenhouse gas emissions by 25-40% depending on what the freed-up land was used for. The amount of imported soybeans, mostly used to feed livestock, would fall by 75%.

This Japanese entrepreneur is freeing small businesses from their accounting nightmares

Founded by Daisuke Sasaki and Ryu Yokoji in July 2012, freee aims to make bookkeeping and accounting quick and easy. While the idea seems simple, no one seems to have created an easy-to-use piece of accounting software for Japan.

For many years, Yayoi has been dominating the accounting software space with over 60 percent market share in Japan. Sasaki says that Yayoi follows the dual-entry bookkeeping method, which could prove to be difficult and unnecessary for many small businesses. It functions okay but it lacks invoicing or bank account integration. It is at best an upgraded Excel spreadsheet.

The team was coding 15 hours a day, rushing for their launch. But when the prototype was ready, Saski faced the second hurdle – skepticism from the market.

“We showed our product to some potential users before launch. But they looked at it with the traditional accounting mindset and thought we can never disrupt the accounting industry,” he says.

The only thing I noticed was the HD1000. I don’t know if I mis-quoted that in the past, but it appears we would need to sell those at $11.75 each. The blue mirror seems to cost quite a bit more than the standard smoke lens version.

What is TELL’s primary function?

TELL is a non-profit that provides support and counseling throughout Japan, and it is the largest organization in Japan that provides Western-style mental health care services.

Our main activities are free, anonymous telephone counseling via the Life Line service (9 am – 11 pm, 365 days a year), and professional face-to-face counseling and psychotherapy via the Counseling Center. TELL also hosts talks, workshops, training and other events to educate and increase awareness of mental health issues in Japan.

Fliplingo offers services in three different ways:

Earlier this week, Between also worked with Wongnai, an online platform for dining matters, to co-brand a guide detailing the ten ideal restaurants for date nights in Thailand. This is similar to what it has done with Singaporean mobile food journaling app Burpple. The guides are then marketed to Between users via its event box.

Alibaba’s e-wallet nears 100 million users, will be an independent brand

After the dust settled on China’s Single’s Day shop fest, e-commerce titan Alibaba’s third-party payment system Alipay announced its smartphone e-wallet app now has almost 100 million users. Now that it has some momentum, Alibaba will spin off the e-wallet into an independent brand, according to Techweb.

Alipay spokesperson Fan Zhiming says Alipay Wallet will soon launch a large-scale national branding campaign.
