物語では人の心を蝕むあやかしとの戦いが主に描かれていますが、それが中心というわけでなく、それぞれの登場人物たちの「生」と「死」についての哲学のようなものが、かなり真面目に描かれています。

Yato wears a jersey and lives a non stable life as a part time worker, and the so called god of academics SUGAWARA no Michizane has such an appearance at that time and the representative of the franchise company that grouped the sky gods. One of the seven gods, Bishamonten is dressed up like the SM club queen.
The story mainly depicts the fight against the Ayakashi who erodes the human heart, but it is not necessarily the heart of it, and the philosophy of the respective characters on "life" and "death" is depicted quite seriously.
