よく考えるとグループを作成する際、自分のユーザー名を入力したいと思いませんか？
例えばabcというユーザーがグループを作成する際ユーザー名の入力欄にはabcにするのが普通ではないでしょうか？
おそらくURLにユーザー名を使っているのでグループを作成する際に同じユーザー名を入力できない仕様でしょうが。
ユーザー名を変更するとURLが代わってしまうのもSEO的に良くないですね
URLは自動で連番になる方が良いと思います
