「ごちそうさま」は、食事を終える際に日常的に使う言葉だが、食材の調達や調理に走り回る人達への感謝を意味している。

無駄に殺さないという意味では、極端な豊食は戒められるべきかもしれないし、毛皮のためだけに動物を殺すことにも賛成できないということには同意できる。

ただ、上記の考え方で言えば、イルカやクジラを捕獲し食べることは、牛や豚に対してやっていることと何ら変わりがなく、その意味でイルカ漁が糾弾されることは理解できない。
また、クジラ漁が糾弾され、武力行使を受けることも理解できない。

"Thank you for the meal", is used everyday after the end of a meal and it means to give thanks to the people who have put effort into obtaining the ingredients and preparing the meal.

I can agree that not killing in vain means the moderation of food and the objection of killing animals purely for their skin and fur.

However, with the basis above, I am unable to understand why the capturing of dolphins and whales for the sake of getting food has to be blamed when it is actually no different from what we are doing to cows and pigs.
Also, using military force to stop whale fishing is just beyond my comprehension.
