アシスタントは左程レベルが高くなくても、採用されます。一番重視されるのは先生と相性が合いそうかどうか性格的なもの、次に技術力です。
漫画講座のある学校や大学へ入学して、そこでスキルアップするのも良いですね。
今ちょっと漫画を学べる学校を調べてみました。
（英語検索が苦手なので全部日本の学校ですが、すみません）

周囲に何を言われようと、いちいち相手にしては駄目です。アニメや漫画業界は非常に歴史が長いですし、熱意さえあればちゃんと道は用意されています。国籍も年齢も関係ないですよ。

It is a good idea to take a course of Manga in the school or university and improve your skill.
I looked for some schools to learn Manga. I am sorry that I am not good at using English, so all schools are Japanese.

You should not take other people's comments seriously. There is a way to be a Manga artist as long as you have a passion because areas of Manga and Anime have a long history. Your nationality and age do not matter.
