電脳コイル（ARの火付け役）の公式な協力を得て、今年8/4電脳メガネサミットが開催される。電脳メガネとは、ネットワークにつながる眼鏡型コンピュータのこと。今年、Googleのメガネプロジェクトなど、次々と眼鏡型コンピュータの製品が発表され活気づいている。近い将来、単にメガネと呼ばれる（現に電脳コイルの世界では単にメガネ）、高機能メガネはスマホに置き換わる生活必需品となる。まさに電脳メガネ元年と言えるこの2012年、日本のメガネの96%を生産するめがねの町、鯖江市が立ち上がる。
