Many exhibitors only use the above method; however, up to about 50% of the products sent in this manner failed to correctly operate including producing smoke and/or sound malfunctioning upon turning the power on.
The best method of packaging is to crumple up old newspaper into balls and stuff them in the carton box. Make sure to layer these newspaper balls or air pillows or crumpled cardboard at the bottom of the box in order to absorb the shock during transportation.
