Dubious at first (cheap Chinese, 3rd world instruments) I have been delighted with its tone, free playing and quality of finish. I have owned strad instruments before but now wonder why i spent so much when the Elkhart delivers so much. For the first time I am consistently in tune with other players with little effort - a feat with my strad that was hard to accomplish.
