単純な計算問題を解く時間を事前に見積もらせる実験を71名の大学生に対し行った．その後、見積もる能力と，クリティカル・シンキングの得点や自分の性格に関するアンケートとの相関を調べた．その結果，推論力，ねばり強さ，共感力と有意な正の相関が，意思の弱さ，仕事が遅い，自分に甘い，と有意な負の相関があった．また見積もりの楽観度とは，ねばり強さ，共感力，自信，意思の固さと有意な正の相関が，意志の弱さ，自信のなさと有意な負の相関があることがわかった．

We conducted an simple calculation solving experiment inviting 71 university students to estimate the amount of time required in advance. After that, we investigated the correlation between the estimation ability and the questionnaire about critical thinking score and his/her personality. As a result, we found significant positive correlation , such as inference ability, patience and sympathy, and significant negative correlation , such as weakness, slow performance and indulgence. Also, we found significant positive correlation between degree of optimistic estimation and patience, sympathy and confidence, and found negative correlation between degree of optimistic estimation and weakness and self-doubt.

We conducted an experiment on 71 college students to estimate the time it would take to solve simple calculations. We then investigated the correlation between their ability to estimate, critical thinking scores and their answers on a questionnaire regarding their personalities. We found a significant positive correlation between reasoning power, tenacity, and empathy, as well as a significant negative correlation with weaker intentions, slower work, and lower self-motivation. It was also found that the degree of optimism in the estimates was strongly correlated with tenacity, empathy, self-confidence, and willpower, and negatively correlated with weakness, lack of self-confidence.
