先日、テレビで南イタリアのナポリにある世界遺産ポンペイが放送されていました。
私も数年前にローマから日帰りでポンペイに行ったことがあります。
ナポリからローカル線でポンペイに向かいましたが、南イタリアの5月はとても暑く、その日は日差しがとても強かったのを覚えています。
ポンペイはヴェスヴィオ山の大噴火により一夜にして火山灰に覆いつくされた街として有名です。
遺跡となっても美しい街で、200年以上前の人々の生活が垣間見えました。
神殿、裁判者や集会所、野外劇場や円形闘技場まであります。
Recently, Pompei as a world heritage in Naples in Southern Italy was televised the other day.
I went to Pompei from Rome on a day trip a few years ago.
I was headed from Naples to Pompei on a local train and I still remembered that the strength of sunshine was quite strong and it was extremely hot in May in Southern Italy.
Pompei is famous for a town that was covered by volcanic ash at night by the great eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
It is a scenic place as it became remains. I felt a life when it was more than 200 years ago.
The temples, courts, meeting places, open-air theatres, and amphitheatres are there.
火山灰に埋もれたために、壁画や建物の保存状態がとてもよかったというのも、なんとも言えない気持ちです。
一時間くらいしか滞在できなくて、広い街のすべてを見ることはできませんでしたが、また再訪したいと思う場所のひとつでした。
ナポリの町も美しいと聞きます。
街に出てみたかったけど、治安が悪いと有名だったのでそのまま駅からローマに戻りました。
As it was covered by ash and I couldn't say anything that the preservation condition was good for the wall paintings and buildings.
I couldn't see all of this large town as I only spent about an hour. This is a place where I wish to visit again.
I heard the town of Naples is so beautiful.
I wish I could get around but I was back to Rome by train as I heard the rumour of unsafe for that area at that time.
