市原家の主人が病気のために毎年行っていたい伊勢神宮へのお参りへ行けなくなってしまい、
そこで飼われていた白毛の秋田犬「シロ」を変わりにお参りさせることにしました。
旅費と道順を記したメモには、
『人の言葉が分かるので道順を教えてあげてください。助けてあげてください』
というメッセージを袋に入れて「シロ」の頭から下げ、伊勢神宮に向けて出発させました。
「シロ」は2ヶ月後、約1,322㎞の道のりを無事に帰って来ました。
