花ケ池は「三つ葉葵紋発祥ゆかりの池」
徳川家康公の祖父、松平清康は享禄二年、吉田城を攻めた。時の伊奈城主本多正忠は最初に味方になり、先陣を切って東門を攻め破り、吉田城を攻略した。正忠は清康を伊奈城に迎え、戦勝の祝宴を開いた。祝宴の際、正忠は花ケ池から採取した水葵の葉を本多家の家紋「立葵」に似せて酒の肴を盛って差し出した。

Hanagaike "A pond where trefoil Aoimon originated"
The ground father of Tokugawa Ieyasu, Matsudaira Kiyoyasu attacked Yoshida castle in Kyoroku 2. Honda Masatada, the lord of Inajo then took his side and broke the East gate as a vanguard and then defeated Yoshida castle. Masatada invited Kiyoyasu to Ina castle and held a feast of victory.
At the feast, Masatada handed a dish with sake on a Monochoria korsakowii leaf picked from Hanagaike, a copy of the Honda's family crest "Tate Aoi".
