Indian DIY event ticketing portal Townscript gets angel funding

Townscript, a Pune-based Do-It-Yourself (DIY) event registration and ticketing portal, has secured an undisclosed amount in funding from a group of individuals, including Mohit Garg, Co-founder of MindTickle; Mahesh Parasuraman, Managing Director of Carlyle Group; Nipam Shah, Founder of NRS Advisors; and Dheeraj Vasisht, Director of Ameretat Technologies.
DIY形式のイベント登録・チケット販売のポータル、Townscript（本社：プーネ）が個人投資家のグループから資金を調達した。金額は未公表。投資したのはMohit Garg氏（MindTickleの共同設立者）、Mahesh Parasuraman氏（Carlyle Groupの業務執行取締役）、Nipam Shah氏（NRS Advisorsの設立者）、Dheeraj Vasisht氏（Ameretat Technologiesの取締役）など。
Sandeep Bhandarkar, CEO of Ameretat Technologies; Hemal Patel, CEO of Cyberoam Technologies; Lalit Singh, Executive Director (Enterprise Services at HP; Kalyan G, AVP (Technology Business) at Mahindra Tech) and few other unnamed individuals also participated in the round.
The firm had earlier raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Garg.
Ameretat TechnologiesのCEOであるSandeep Bhandakar氏、Cyberoam TechnologiesのCEOであるHemel Patel氏、HPエンタープライズサービス部門の常務取締役であるLalit Singh氏、Mahindra Techテクノロジービジネス部門のKalyan G氏、他にも氏名未公表の投資家らがこのラウンドに参加した。
同社は以前にもGragから調達額未公表の資金を調達している。
The startup will use the capital to achieve 400 per cent growth in the number of ticket sales this year, and to serve more than 5,000 small and medium size event organisers. A part of the capital will also go into building a clean and intuitive interface, it said in a statement.
Townscript was set up in January 2014 by Sachin Sharma and Sanchit Malik. The platform allows organisers to create a event registration/ticketing page and mobile event app within a a short time.
同社が発表した声明文によると、調達した資金を年内チケット販売数400%アップと5千以上の中小イベント主催者にサービスを提供するために運用したい考えだ。また、資金の一部を視覚的に優れ、直感的に操作できるインターフェイスを開発するために用いる見込みだという。
Townscriptは2014年1月SachinSharma氏とSanchit Malik氏により設立された。イベント主催者はこのポータルサイト上でイベント登録、チケット販売用ページやモバイルイベントアプリをわずかな時間で作成することができる。
The company claims that it has served more than 1,000 events till date that include E-Summit IIT-Bombay, Rubyconf India, Mood Indigo, Startup Leadership Program, and Pune International Marathon. It further says that the firm has been seeing 30 per cent month on month.
“We are focussing on the market which Eventbrite captured in the US. The key to address this market is via providing easy-to-use registration management tools that can address all key pain points in event registration and payments collection. Also, considering that Indian consumers are rapidly opting for mobile apps, we are the first one to launch an event app,” the Founder duo said in a statement.

「我々はEvenbriteがアメリカで席巻したイベント登録、販売マーケットに狙いを定めました。このマーケットで成功をつかむカギはイベント登録や支払いの回収にまつわるわずらわしい点をクリアし、より簡単に登録管理を行えるようにすることだと考えました。また、インドの消費者が急速にモバイルアプリを利用していることに注目し、インドで初めてイベントアプリをローンチさせたのです。」と創業者の二人は声明の中で述べた。
