In the current Japan manufacturers of tamahagane (the steel used in Japanese swords) barely remain.
The manufacturing is extremely difficult, so it's impossible to make the tamahagane if you don't have the technique and knowledge to do so.
At Mr. Yoshida his workshop, five blacksmiths ranging from 80 years to 90 years old who are all siblings spend about 70 hours to manufacture the tamahagane.
The manufacturing process at Mr. Yoshida's workshop hasn't changed a bit from the old methods, and his tamahagane blades can function as art objects as well. The sharpness of the swords is incomparable to the knifes we have nowadays, and cut just like the real famous Japanese swords.
You can obtain one of Japan's traditional swords for a cheap price!

In modern Japan today, there are only a few craft workshops that manufactures ""TamaHagane" the blade steel made from iron sand or black sand, which is the material of the sword.
It is impossibly hard to manufacture the steel, without the traditional skills and knowledge.
At Mr. Yoshida's craft workshop, the five brothers around from 80 to 90 years-old manufacture the blade steel over 70 hours a time.
The blade steel are made with the traditional ironmaking process. And the kitchen knives made by the steel worth an artwork. It cuts much more clearer and sharper than with the kitchen knives made with usual "YasukiHagane" steel. It is more like Japanese swords.
