3Qはドライブシーズンによるガソリン需要の高まりと、熱波によりトウモロコシの収穫悪化予想が発表された事で価格が上昇した為、エタノール価格は$2.91/ｶﾞﾛﾝまで上昇した。しかし、世界経済後退の懸念による投機資金の流出によりトウモロコシ価格が下落した為、エタノール価格も$2.58/ｶﾞﾛﾝまで下落した。4Q前半は旺盛なトウモロコシ需要に投機資金が流入し、トウモロコシ価格が上昇した為、エタノール価格は一時的に$2.79/ｶﾞﾛﾝまで上昇した。

In 3Q the price rose due to high demand for gasoline from "driving season" and decreased corn harvest caused by the heatwave, the prise of ethanol rose to $2.91 per gallon. However, with expected world economy slowdown, speculative money withdrew and the price of ethanol fell down to $2.58 per gallon. In the first half of 4Q, speculative money flew in for expanding demand for corn and the price of corn rose, which caused the price of ethanol rose, temporaliry, as high as $2.79 per gallon.

In 3Q, because of the higher gas demand of the driving season combined with the announcement of the expected bad crop of the corn due to the heat wave, the price of ethanol increased up to $2.91/gallon. However, along with the corn price decline due to the outflow of the speculative money concerned over the world economy recession, the ethanol price went down to $2.58/gallon. In the first half of 4Q, the flowing back of the speculative money spurred by the driving demand for it increased the corn price, thus the ethanol price also rose to $2.79/gallon temporarily.
