取説に従い、
（1）注意深くArmを持ち、片手をBaseに添え取り出し、平坦な机に置き、

I did the following according to the instruction manual:
(1) I carefully held the arm while with the other hand took the base out of the box, then placed it on a level surface and inserted the AC adapter in the socket on the backside of the base.
(2) I fitted a plug into the AC adapter in order to make it compatible for Japanese outlet, then plugged it into the outlet.

In accordance with the instruction of the manual, I:

(2) Connected a plug, which can be used in Japan, to the AC adapter and inserted it into the electric outlet.

According to the manual,
(1) I take the Arm with great care, take it out with my one hand holding the Base, put it on the flat desk and insert the AC adaptor to the socket of the back of the Base.
(2) I put the plug which is usable in Japan to AC adoptor and insert it to outlet.
