Even you do render a service without contrition, that is just superficial, and does not help recovering the relationship with the God, I believe.

They obey faith in name only as they claim they should attack because god himself proclaimed that they're ruined. They do not do it because they believe in god and have faith in him. What we really should do in troubled times, is to repent sincerely. Otherwise all your service in the name of god will be in name only, it will do nothing to restore your links to him.
