本症例では、1回目の手術後に低体温の合併症が起きた。鎮静による過度な副交感神経活動の亢進が原因の一つと考えた。しかし、2度目の鎮静後には体温低下がなかったため、DEXの影響による可能性が強く疑われた。鎮静中の血圧は1回目の鎮静の方が2回目の鎮静の時より約15％低くなっていた。これからも1回目の鎮静時の方がより一層の副交感神経活動の亢進があった可能性が考えられる。
DEX、ミダゾラム、プロポフォールの血中半減期は、それぞれ2.5h、1.8-6.4h、30-60minである。

The subject experienced complication of hypothermia after the first surgery. The excessive parasympathetic nerve activity due to sedation was thought to be the cause. However, hypothermia was not observed after the second sedation, DEX was suspected to be the cause. The blood pressure was approximately 15% lower during the first sedation, compared to the second. However, no hypothermia arouse after the second operation, so the possibility of DEX effect was strongly suspected. The blood pressure during the first sedation was lower than the second one by 15%.
