Unique shops can be found in Akihabara, which is the center of Otaku culture.
In the Akihabara Gachapon Hall, many gachapon machines can be found. (might be gachapon or gachagacha depending on region)

Inserting a coin (100~500yen), rotating the lever "gachagacha", and capsules containing figurines or keychains will come out with a "pon"! This is what gachapon is.
The pounding excitement you get while opening the capsules captivates both children and adults.

There are a staggering number of unusual shops in Akihabara, the center of otaku culture.
In fact, at Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan, a lot of gachapon (capsule-vending machines) are set up. (In some places, the machine is called gashapon or gachagacha.)

Gachapon is a machine that, when you insert a one-coin (100-500 yen) and turn the lever (producing the sound "gachagacha"), a capsule with a figure, a keychain, a seal, etc. will fall out with the sound "pon!"
Children and adults alike are attracted to the excitement, the heartthrob, etc. that results from not knowing what you get until opening the capsule.

Going through the gate of the wind god and the thunder god, you reach in front of Sensoji , and you see a crowd in the center.
And all the people there are taking burn incense-sticks smoke on their heads, shoulders, hips, etc.
Because it is said if you take the smoke from this big incense burner on your body's bad parts, you will be given divine blessing.
But some people misunderstand if they take the smoke only on their heads, so they return after taking the smoke only on their heads. Maybe you may see like the scene a lot.

And I will recommend you that you bring your own incense sticks you buy because it is said that divine's blessing is given only their own incense sticks smoke.

After passing through Kaminari Jinmon, in from the Asakusa temple, you will see many people gathering in the middle.
Those people are putting the smoke of incent sticks on their head, shoulder or back.
That’s because it is said that “the smoke of this big incent burner will heal the bad parts of the body when you expose.”
Yet some people mistakenly believe that “when you put the smoke on the head, it will make you smarter.” Therefore there are many of them who only put the smoke on their head and go home.

More precisely, the smoke is said to have healing power but only the smoke from your own incent sticks. Therefore I recommend you to buy incent sticks and burn them as a great experience.

Also,it will be good to relax in the stores which have the atmosphere of an old working-class neighborhood if you have time because you can enjoy various Japanese snacks here.
In the summer time, shaved ice is popular, and it contains natural mineral water of Usamireizo which is made only at the three places in Japan.
This is characteristic of plentiful mineral and almost no impurity because spring water gushed out at the foot of Mt. Hodo in Nagatoro.
Please try it if you come here in summer because the ice used is produced with traditional techniques since the Heian era.
Then there are overflowing chunky bean paste in crunchy pastry.

Here you can also enjoy variety of Japanese sweets. Take time and relax in the house of real Shitamachi (down town) style if it suits your schedule.
Kaki-gori (a chilled sweet made with shaved ice flavored with syrup) is quite popular in the summer time. The natural ice made by Asami-reizo is used, which you can eat in only 3 places in Japan. This impurity-free ice full of minerals is made from the mountain runoff water in the Hodo-zan (Mount Hodo) of Nagatoro area. The ice shaving, Kakigori, made with a traditional method since the Heian Period is a must-taste if you are visiting in summer.

Take a bite of the crisply baked dough, then you will find full of crushed bean jam inside.
