板門店という場所は教科書やニュースで見たことのある場所だ。朝鮮民主主義人民共和国と大韓民国間における「休戦協定」が結ばれ、今に至る38度線境界での分断された国家間の会談場である。
…と堅いこと言っても、現在は観光地化されており…板門店国境以外の見学のときはお店や露店やレストラン、売店等…一種の有名な観光地となっていることも確かだ。
とはいえ、板門店に行く際は、団体行動が絶対で外れたことは許されないという感じ。

Panmunjon is a place for looking at textbooks and the news. There is a "cease-fire agreement" between the DPRK and the Republic of Korea and now the 38th parallel boundary that separates them is used for talks between the countries.
... or so it's said but now it's become a tourist spot... And, of course, outside of looking at the national border of Panmunjon there are shops, booths, restaurants, stores... and all that is expected with a tourist spot.
That said, when you go to Panmunjon you get the feeling that you absolutely must not act outside of the group.

And yet, the feeling remains that it is never permitted to act alone outside group, absolutely never, in visiting Panmunjeom.

Before you enter the area they make you sign a "self-responsible even for one's death" waiver and it just makes the tension increase.
I had wanted to see Panmunjon once in my life and the prices there aren't that high so I think those who are interested should definitely go.

You have to write "a self-responsibility manifesto in case of death" before entering the talk ground, which further increases the nervouness.
Many wish to see Panmunjeom and nothing is of high price tag there, so why don't you go and see once by all means.

Unfortunately the weather was not good, but the guide's explanation was very much detailed and therefore so informative for me.
