The black and white photo was taken at the entrance of the Center Gai in Shibuya in 1992 (Heisei 4).
At the time, my office was in Shibuya and there was a store I frequented in Center Gai so I went down there often. But the area started to become run-down so I stopped going.
In June 1997 the old arcade sign was damaged by a typhoon. A disaster resulting in causalities occurred and resulted in what you see now. The color photo was taken in June 2012.
The man on the right-hand side walking the same way in both pictures is just a coincidence.

This monochrome picture was taken in 1992 at the entrance to Shibuya Center District.
Back then, my office was in Shibuya and some of my favorite shops were in Center, so I was going through there a lot. However, since a while, the town's atmosphere became worse and I stopped going there.
In a typhoon in June 1997, the old arcade's signboard was destroyed. Accidents in which people died were happening and it changed into what it is today. The color photo was taken in June 2012.
It's coincidental that the men walking on the right side was with the same posture.

The monochrome photo was taken at the entrance of Shibuya Center Street in 1992.
At that time, the office was in Shibuya and there was my favorite shop at the Center Street and I often visited there. But as time went on, the atmosphere of the street got worse and I stopped visiting.
In June 1997, a typhoon broke down the ornaments of late-arcade and killed some people, and the arcade has rebuilt as it is today. The colored picture was taken in June 2012.
The man in the far right in both pictures is walking very similarly, but it is just a coincidence.
