日本には古来から八百万の神といい、たくさんの神様がいるとされています。主人公である夜トもそんな神様のうちのひとりですが、その地位は末端の末端です。ですので、神様につきもののお社などは持っていない状態です。いつかは自分のお社と信者の獲得を目指し、神様であるにもかかわらず迷い猫の捜索から水道工事まで、様々な仕事を請け負っています。ただ、神様ですので、人間の願い事も叶える仕事をしています。その際には神器と呼ばれる武器で、あやかしと戦うこともあります。

It is said that there are Gods as many as 8 million from the ancient time in Japan.
Yoto, the main character in this comic is also one of them though he is a God of low status.
And because of his low status, he does not even have his own shrine like other Gods.
He is aiming to have his own shrine and hope people can worship him in the future, and at the moment undertakes various works from searching for homes for lost cats to the plumbing in spite of being the God. Since he is the God, he also does grant wishes and when he grants the wishes, sometimes he has to fight with the sea monster, so called "Ayakashi".

From the ancient times, it is believed in Japan that there are numerous number of gods, so-called Yaorozu gods, or 8 million gods. The main character, Yato, is one of them, though his rank as a god is way in the bottom. Therefore, he doesn't have a temple, which normally every god has. He undertakes wide variety of jobs, from searching for a missing cat to plumbing, believing someday he will achieve his own temple and believers. Still, he is a god, so he also does a job of fulfilling peoples′wishes. In doing so, he sometimes fight against Mayakashi, or monsters, with his weapon called Jinki, meaning god′s weapon.

ヒロインとなる壱岐ひよりは、夜トが行っていた猫の捜索のとき、交通事故に巻き込まれて簡単に幽体離脱する体質となってしまいました。その体質を直してもらおうと夜トとの関わりを持つようになり、様々な事件に巻き込まれていきます。
この作品に出てくる神様たちはみな人間的で面白いです。

Hiyori Iki, the heroine, got in the habit of easily having out-of-body experiences after having a traffic accident when Yato was searching for a missing cat. For curing the habitude, she got involved with Yato, and thus began to get involved with various cases. The gods appearing in this story are all humanly and interesting.

夜トなどはジャージを着てフリーターのようにふらふらと生活しているし、学問の神様と呼ばれる菅原道真公は、格好こそ当時のものですが、天神様をグループ化していてまるでフランチャイズ企業の代表です。七福神の一人である毘沙門天などは、まるでSMクラブの女王様のような格好をしています。
物語では人の心を蝕むあやかしとの戦いが主に描かれていますが、それが中心というわけでなく、それぞれの登場人物たちの「生」と「死」についての哲学のようなものが、かなり真面目に描かれています。

One of the seven gods, Bishamonten is dressed up like the SM club queen.

もし、この作品を一言で言い表すとしたら「生きろ」になるのかな、と思います。感じ的には、高橋ツトム氏の「スカイハイ」に通じるところがあるような気がします。

I think and wonder if this work can be describe with one word, "survive". In terms of feeling , I feel like there is something that leads to Tsutomu Takahashi 's "Sky High".
The TV anime is currently being broadcast and original comic has been continued.
The TV series has just begun, but I think it will reflect a similar atmosphere on the screen no less than the original. You definitely need to see it.

If I describe this story in one word, I think it will be "live". I have a feeling it has something in common with "Sky High" by Tsutomu Takahashi.
Broadcasting of TV animation and original comic series are currently continuing. TV series has just started, but I think it equally present the atomosphere of the story as well as the original. It surely is a must-see.
