家庭内の機器をつないで操作パネルを一元化し、エネルギーを「見える化」することにより、省エネ行動を促します。
家の消費電力とは、結局は家電の集合による消費のことである。
もし、家電が家のエネルギーを構成しているとすれば、家電のコントローラーがHEMSと結び付いている方が自然ではないだろうか。
