Tsutomu Yamaguchi was the person to be recognized as a double atomic bomb survivor of both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bomb blasts. He appeared in "Niju Hibaku" (Twice Bombed, Twice Survived), a 2006 documentary film. He confessed in March, 2009 that he had cancer, one of after-effects of atomic bombs. On December 22, 2009, American movie director James Cameron met Yamaguchi who was then hospitalized and discussed the idea of making a film about atomic bombs. Yamaguchi then told him "I've finished playing my role. I would like you to take over my role after I die."
What they have in common is nerves of steel that challenge their destiny, despite of having suffered great disasters.
