米国トヨタはこのほど、『プリウスv』（日本名プリウスα）などトヨタブランド5車種とサイオン『tC』の小売希望価格を5月生産分から値上げすると発表した。値上げ率は0.2～1.5％で、金額では50～270ドルとなる。

Toyota USA to Raise Retail Prices of Prius v and 5 Other Models

Toyota USA has announced that they will raise the retail prices of its 5 brand models including Prius v (aka Prius α in Japan) and Scion tC, starting from May production. The retail prices for those models will increase about 0.2 to 1.5 percent, or about 50 to 270 dollars.

トヨタブランドではプリウスvのほか、『カムリ』、『カムリハイブリッド』、『ハイランダーハイブリッド』およびピックアップトラックの『タコマ』を対象とする。トヨタ自動車によると、「他社との競合状況などを見ながらモデルイヤー途中に行う通常の価格改定」という。

米国トヨタは2011年末にも、トヨタ、レクサス、サイオンの一部車種について、同年12月の生産分から値上げを実施した。円高で悪化している採算性を改善するため、競争力のあるモデルについては機動的に価格改定に動いている。

Toyota brands subjected to the price rise are Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid and a pick-up truck Tacoma as well as Prius v. According to Toyota USA, "it is a standard price revision, which we do sometimes when needed during a model year based on competition among other companies."

Toyota USA raised the retail prices at the end of 2011 as well for some of Toyota, Lexus and Scion models from December production. The company revises its retail prices strategically for competitive models in order to improve its profit that has worsened because of the strong yen.

Honda held a welcoming ceremony for its new recruits at its Suzuka Plant on April 2. The company hired 581 new recruits in total for the year of 2012, including 313 engineers, 46 support staffs, 37 graduates from specialized vocational high school and technical college, and 185 graduates from high school.

「新車販売、475万台で2年ぶり増加…2011年度」

日本自動車販売協会連合会と全国軽自動車販売協会が2日発表した2011年度の新車販売統計（速報）によると、総台数は前年度比3.3％増の475万3273台となった。年度でのプラスは2年ぶり。

11年度の新車販売は、東日本大震災からの生産が回復した昨年秋以降、増加に転じ、エコカー補助金が復活した12月からは大幅な伸びが続いた。ただ、プラスになったものの08年度から4年続きでの500万台割れとなった。

Japan's New Car Sales for FY2011 Increased to 4.75 Mil. after 2 Years of Decline

The total number of new-car sales in Japan for FY2011 increased 3.3 percent from the previous year to 4,753,273 units, the first growth in 2 years, according to the statistics (preliminary) published on April 2 by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Mini Vehicles Association.

The new vehicle sales turned to the growth after car production has recovered from the the Great East Japan Earthquake, and continued to increase significantly after the government’s subsidy program for eco-friendly cars resumed in December. The figures show a positive progress, however, the sales didn’t reach up to 5 million level for the fourth consecutive year since 2008.

総台数のうち、登録車は3.1％増の306万4336台と、2年ぶりのプラスになった。軽自動車は3.7％増の168万8937台で、5年ぶりの増加だった。

3月の総台数は前年同月比61.4％増の75万1888台と大幅に伸び、6か月連続のプラス。年間でもっとも需要の大きい3月の70万台超えは、08年以来となった。うち登録車は78.2％増の49万7959台、軽自動車は60.5％増の25万3929台だった。

Of the total number of new car sales, the number of registered cars rose 3.1 percent to 3,064,336 units, the first increase in 2 years. The sales for mini-vehicles went up 3.7 percent to 1,688,937 units, the first growth in 5 years.

New car sales in March surged 61.4 percent year-on-year to 751,888 cars, marking the growth for the 6th consecutive month. Typically March has the highest demand, and it was the first time since 2008 that a March figure exceeded a 700,000 unit level. Of the March figure, the number of registered cars climbed to 497,959 units, a 78.2 percent increase, and the figure for mini-vehicles is 253,929 units, up 60.5 percent.

『日産自動車、世界生産が過去最高…2月実績』

日産自動車が発表した2月の国内生産・販売・輸出実績によると、グローバル生産台数は前年同月比28.6％増の45万0174台。単月として過去最高を記録した。

国内生産は、主に『ローグ』、『ジューク』の輸出分、およびエコカー補助金対象車『ノート』の台数増が貢献し、同19.6％増の11万1786台と前年実績を大きく上回った。

Nissan Motor’s Global Production Hit Record-High (February Figures )

According to Nissan’s domestic production, sales and export figures for February, its global production in February increased 28.6% year-on-year to 450,174 units, reaching a record high for a single month.

The domestic production reached 111,786 units, a stunning 19.6% increase from the previous year. It was boosted mainly by increased exports of Rogue and Juke, and strong demand for Note, which qualifies for Japan's subsidy program for environmentally friendly vehicles.

国内販売は、同19.4％増の7万2115台。登録車が主にエコカー補助金対象車の『セレナ』、『ノート』、『キューブ』が健闘したことにより、同25.9％増の5万5675台と大幅なプラスとなった。軽自動車は同1.7％増の1万6440台。

Overseas production increased to 338,388 units, 31.8% up on year-on-year basis. Production in all region surpassed the figures of the year before. Especially the production in China was outstanding with a big 70.1% increase on year-to-year basis.

Nissan’s domestic sales increased as well with 72,115 units, 19.4% up from the year before. Its domestic car registration increased 25.9% year-on-year to 55,675 units. The growth is mainly attributed to increased registration of Serena, Note and Cube, which all certify for the government’s subsidy program for eco-friendly vehicles. The company’s sales for mini-vehicles also increased to 16,440 units, a 1.7% year-to-year increase.

As to the Nissan’s sales outside Japan, Rogue and Altima sell well, and Juku in Europe. The sales in China increased 56.7% year-on-year, surpassing significantly the last year’s figure and making a record high for the month of February. This is due to a good demand for Tiida, Sunny and Teana, and it is because of the Chinese New Year holiday. While it fell in January this year, it was in February last year, so the operating days were much less in February last year than this year.

Nissan’s export surpassed the last year’s figure with a 20% year-on-year increase to 65,031 units.

Honda’s Production in North America Hit Record High (February Result)

ホンダが発表した2012年2月の四輪車の生産・販売・輸出実績は、世界生産台数が前年比31.3％増の36万6721台と2か月連続でプラスとなった。

国内生産は同64.8％増の11万5920台と大幅増。3か月連続で前年を上回った。

海外生産は同20.0％増の25万0801台と5か月ぶりのプラスとなった。アジアでは同2.7％減の7万2917台とやや数字を落としたが、北米は同38.8％増の15万1818台と全ての月を通じて過去最高を記録。

According to the Honda’s production, sales and export figures of automobile for February 2012, global production increased 31.3% year-on-year to 366,721 units, marking an increase for the two consecutive month.

Its production in Japan increased significantly with 115,920 units, 64.8% up on year-on-year basis, surpassing the last year’s figures for the third consecutive month.

Honda’s production outside Japan increased for the first time in 5 months to reach 250,801 units, a 20% year-on-year increase. In Asia, its production slightly dropped to 72,917 units, 2.7% down from the previous year. However, the figures in the North America went up 38.8% year-on-year to 151,818 units, recording an all-time monthly production. The Production in Europe also went well with 13,661 units, a 23.3% year-on-year increase.

The production in Europe also went well with 13,661 units, a 23.3% year-on-year increase.

Honda’s domestic sales increased for the second consecutive months with 77,145 units, up 58.3% on year-on-year basis. As to vehicle registration, Fit and Freed as well as mini-vehicle N BOX and Life are doing well.

The company’s exports also increased for the second consecutive month with 33,019 units, 14.8% up on year-to-year basis. Exports to Europe decreased a stagnant 36.5%, but exports to the North America and Asia went up 21.9%, 54.5% on year-to-year basis respectively.

Nissan’s FUGA HYBRID to roll out in Europe, introducing 2012 model with better environmental performance

Infiniti, a Nissan’s luxury brand for export, on 29th, unveiled its “M” and “M35h” of model year 2012. Both models are sold in Japan under the name of FUGA and FUGA HYBRID respectively. Highlights of the year models are further improved fuel-efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions. Major improvements include reviewing motor control and making the (secondary) battery charging more efficient.

インフィニティによると、2012年モデルの欧州複合モード燃費は14.48km/リットルと、従来よりも約1.2％向上。CO2排出量は162g/kmから159g/kmに改善させた。

これにより、欧州主要国では、税制上の優遇措置が拡大。インフィニティは、「ハイブリッドサルーンでCO2排出量が160g/kmを切るのは初」と説明している。

As the result, the EV mode performance has been successfully improved to allow the car to run only with the motor even when it just starts running in cold winters.

According to Infiniti, 2012 M35h has a combined European fuel efficiency of 14.48km per liter, improved by about 1.2% from the previous one. The amount of CO2 emissions is also improved to 159g/km, down from 162g/km.

These improvements will help provide enhanced tax break to the people in major European countries. “It is the first time that CO2 emission for a hybrid saloon to go under 160g/km,” explained Infiniti.

『トヨタとPSA、チェコ工場で生産累計200万台を達成』

Toyota and PSA’s Czech Plant marks 20 Million Units in Total Production

Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile Czech (TPCA), a joint venture between Toyoya Motor Corporation and PSA Peugeot-Citroen, held a commemorative ceremony in Prague on 28th to mark its cumulative production of 20 million cars.

Guests attended the ceremony include Kolin City Mayor Vit Rakusan and CzechInvest Director Radek Soltys, and TPCA President Satoshi Tachihara and TPCA Executive Vice President Patrice Le Guyader were also present at the commemoration.

立原社長は「この度、生産累計200万台達成を迎えることができ、政府の皆様、これまでご支援いただいた地域の皆様をはじめ、お客様、従業員に心から感謝している。TPCAでは、今後ともトヨタとPSAで協力し、引き続きいいクルマをつくり、チェコ共和国、コリン市の経済に貢献していきたい」と語った。

電気自動車（EV）を企業共同で開発するSIM-Drive（川崎市）は28日、先行開発車第2号の『SIM-WILL』を発表するとともに、2013年3月の完成をめざす先行開発車第3号の開発概要を明らかにした。

Toyota and PSA established TPCA in March 2002. In February 2005, TPCA started producing compact cars of Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107, Citroen C1. It marked its cumulative production of 20 million units after 7 years and 1 month.


[ SIM-Drive Project II ] 26 Companies to Participate in Project III

SIM-Drive (Kawasaki, Japan), a electric vehicle developer on corporate collaboration, unveiled its prototype EV project II “SIM-WILL” on 28th. The company also, on the same day, announced the outline of project III, which is set to be completed in March 2013.
