Simon Cantrill (scintillar)

I have the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 and completed a one-year Japanese Language Program at Waseda University, Tokyo. I also have an MA Japanese Studies from the University of Leeds, UK. I lived in Japan for about 10 years, teaching English as a Second Language to children and adults. I'm familiar with Japanese culture and I also practise aikido. Before this, I studied music and worked as a freelance musician for a few years, playing double bass and bass guitar in orchestras, bands and music theatre.

My experience includes translating and proofreading entries and articles on travel and tourism, food and drink, Twitter messages, Amazon product descriptions, website terms of use, medical-related letters and entries, Japanese professional soccer team website, angling, toys & games, and machine translations. I'm also available for transcription work from Japanese to English.

日本語能力試験二級があるし、早稲田大学で一年間の日本語教育プログラムで日本語を勉強しました。１０年間ぐらい日本に住んでいて子供と大人に英語を教えました。その上、イギリスのリーズ大学で日本の勉強の修士を勉強しました。日本の文化に慣れて武道も興味を持ちます。それの前に、音楽を勉強して数年間オーケストラ、バンド、ミュージカルでコントラバス、バスギターを弾くという仕事をしました。

旅行や観光地の記事や掲載、飲食店や飲食物、ツイッターのメッセージ、商品の説明、ウエブサイトの利用規約、医学に関する手紙や掲載、日本のJリーグサッカーチームのウエブサイト、釣り、おもちゃやゲーム、機械翻訳のレビューという翻訳や修正をしています。日本語や英語での書き取りも可能です。
