Batiks on the other hand refer to the coloring process. Similar to the method used to make psychedelic tie-dyes from the 60s, fabric is bound then dipped in dye. Tie-dyes often use rubber bands to control coloring, whereas batiks use wax. After drying, the wax is removed and the process can be repeated many times, changing the pattern of the binding and color of the dye. Wax is applied manually with a pen-like tool called a canting or with a copper stamp in a repeating pattern. The stamp method is obviously much faster, but constrains designs. Cooke is an impressionable teenager, but this isn't a film about a good kid gone bad. There's a level of introspection to Cooke, who is often seen discussing his options about going to college vs. entering the NBA draft straight out of high school. It would seem that Shopkorn made the wrong decision by following Cooke, but hindsight is 20/20. When Cooke enters the draft in 2002, he was hotter than the younger LeBron James. And while it’s great to sometimes be getting gigs at festivals, I get strongest sense of pride when I work for an audience of one. That audience is my mom.
My mom loves movies and gets completely lost in them. She senses their craft and can be amazingly astute in criticizing what she just saw, but more often than not she just loses herself in the story. She also has the damndest way of remembering the films she watched. Titles are of no significance; names of the cast members never stick. What she does keep total recall of, are details of costume and set design: she loves beautiful objects and lives to look at them.

Ralph Wiggum was one of the first Simpsons tertiary characters to gain a real fan following, but if you're still rocking 'I bent my wookiee' in 2013, your quote game has, quite simply, failed to evolve.

Not that you would know it from the young Irish actor's last big role, the somber, bushy-bearded landowner Levin in last year's "Anna Karenina." That the news is delivered in the most charming off-handedly fashion by his father in the form of Nighy, who never fails to amuse at the very least and astonishes almost always whenever he is onscreen, undercuts the questions that nitpickers might have about the process.
