この画は手練手管にたけた中年男がうぶな娘に春画の絵巻をみせ、これから娘を自分のものにしようと左手の指先をとってひきよせている。
はじらいながらも、未知の世界への好奇心もおさえがたく、もうすぐこの男のものになるのであろうその瞬間が美しく描きだされている。
本図は、顔を全然見せない凝った構図である。不忍の池に面した料亭の二階で、侍が芸者に迫ったところ。
芸者のよじれた上半身が、生々しくも美しい。
