2008年の夏、世界を舞台に活躍するアーティストを目指し、アメリカ、中国などで海外生活経験のあるメンバーを含めたメンバーで構成された7人組グループ、U-KISS(ユー・キス)。U-KISSという名は、先端を意味するユビキタスの頭文字「U」と、英語でいう「あなた」の「YOU」を指し、あなたとキスをという言葉につながる「KISS」は「Korean International Idol Superstar」という意味を持っている。
U-KISS is a group, consisting of seven men including the man who experienced the life in foreign country like USA and China, formed to set out performing at the stage of the world in summer 2008. The name of U-KISS derives from the initial of "Ubiquitous" whose mean is frontier, "YOU" means you in English, and 'KISS' linking mean that I kiss you has meaning "Korean International Idol Superstar".
端正な顔立ちからは想像できない驚くべき歌唱力とパワフルなパフォーマンスで、デビューから2ヵ月後、「アジア・ソング・フェスティバル」で新人賞を受賞。メンバーそれぞれがモデルやバラエティ番組へのレギュラー出演、MCとして活動をするなど、様々なジャンルで活躍する人気と実力を兼ね備えたグループだ。また、その人気ぶりは、既に韓国のみならず中国、タイ、マレーシアなどアジア諸国で高い認知度を得ている。
2 months after their debut, they won new face award at Asia Song Festival with their powerful performance and amazing voices that one would never expect coming from someone with such a cute handsome face. Each member do some other activities such as regular appearance in TV show and modeling. They are a group with both fame and talents. Also their fame has gone beyond Korea and they are already famous in other parts of Asia such as China, Malaysia.
2008年 8月、ミニアルバム『N-Generation』のタイトル曲「子供じゃない」でデビュー果たした後、2ndミニアルバム『Bring It Back 2 Old School』では、タイトル曲 「君が好き」を発表し、"可愛い弟"のイメージで注目を浴びた。
August 2008, since accomplishing debut in the title song 「Not a kid」 of the mini album 『N-Generation』, and the title song 「Love you」in the second mini album 『Bring It Back 2 Old School』 was published, became attracting attention because of the image of "Lovely brother".
その後、3rdミニアルバム『CONTI UKISS』 タイトル曲「Man Man Ha ni(マンマンハニ)」を発表。かわいいイメージから男らしさを前面に打ち出したビジュアルへと大きくイメージチェンジ、見るものを圧倒するパフォーマンスと歌声で、"ガンナムダンス(強い男子ダンス)"旋風を起こすなど爆発的な人気を得た。
After that, he published the mini album [CONTI UKISS] Title Number [Man Man Hani]. He got the explosive popularity with the big change from the image of the cuteness to that of the manliness visual, the performance with the overwhelming power, the powerful vocal and "Gangnam Dance(strong man dance)" that attracts
the whirl.
2010年2月、ついにファーストアルバム『U-Kiss Only One』を発表。タイトル曲「Bing Geul Bing Geul(ビングルビングル)」と「Mo Ra Go(何だって)」は「Man Man Ha ni(マンマンハニ)」の人気を引き継ぐように大ヒットを記録。人気と実力を備えた韓国の最高のアイドルグループとして、一躍若手トップスターの座に躍り出た。 そのU-KISSが2011年6月、avexと手を取り合って本格的な日本活動を始めることを発表。
In February 2010, finally U-KISS released the 1st album 『U-Kiss Only One』. The title track 「Bing Geul Bing Geul」 and 「Mo Ra Go」 recorded blockbusters with following 「Man Man Ha ni」. As a super idol group with high popularity and talent in South Korea, U-Kiss went on the top. That U-KISS announced in June 2011 that they make a contract with avex and will launch full-scale activities in Japan.
メンバーは「日本に滞在し本格的に活動出来ることが嬉しいです。ファンの皆さんに沢山逢えることも楽しみです！早く日本語を覚えてドームでワンマンライブをするのが夢。」と日本活動への意欲を語る。
The members talking the willingness about the activities in Japan is that, they are glad to stay in Japan and can do activities in full-scale, and also looking forward to meet lots of fans. The dream is remembering Japanese soon and doing one-man live at dome.
7月に実施した『FANミーティング』では、全国3ヵ所6会場で実施し、約一万人のファンを動員、 8月24日には、ライセンスアルバム『Bran New KISS』をリリースし、本国での発売から約5ヶ月経過しているにも拘らず、オリコン・デイリー・ランキング初登場5位(最高位3位)、ウィークリー・チャート初登場7位を獲得するなどの活躍をみせている。 2011年12月14日、満を持しての日本デビュー・シングル「Tick Tack」をリリース。
"During the "FAN Meeting" held in July, took place at 6 venues at 3 locations nationwide and involved nearly 10,000 fans. On August 24, they have released their licensure album "Bran New KISS", which has earned the 5th place showing for the first time on Oricon Daily Ranking (it went up to the 3rd place at the highest) and the 7th place showing for the first time on Weekly Chart, despite its sale in the main country that had passed about only 5 months. On December 14, 2011, they have proudly released their Japanese debut single "Tick Tack".

2012年に入っても勢いは留まらず、2月29日には2ndシングル「Forbidden Love」と1stアルバム『A Shared Dream』を同時発売し、シングル＆アルバム両方でオリコン・ウィークリー・ランキング初登場TOP10入りを記録！！(2ndシングル「Forbidden Love」・・・10位、1stアルバム『A Shared Dream』・・・5位)
U-KISS recorded 5th in the Oricon Weekly Ranking at first appearance!
Even in 2012 their power is still growing and on 29th February, they released the second single CD "Forbidden Love" and 1st album 『A Shared Dream』 at the same time. Both of the single and the album were recorded in TOP 10 in the Oricon Weekly Ranking!! ( 2nd single 「Forbidden Love」 ・・・10th, 1st album 『A Shared Dream』・・・5th)
7月25日には、3枚目のシングル「Dear My Friend」をリリースし、国内初のタイアップとして、テレビ東京系アニメ『あらしのよるに ～ひみつのともだち～』エンディング・テーマとして好評を得ている。8月には、初出演となる「a-nation stadium fes. Charge > Go! ウイダーinゼリー＠味の素スタジアム」に出演。
On July 25, the single of the third 「Dear My Friend」 was released, as the first domestic tie-up, and theending theme in the series animation of Tokyo TV 『friendship forever 』 have gained a good reputation. In August, it was the first performance to appear in 「a-nation stadium fes. Charge > Go! Weider in Jelly @ Ajinomoto Stadium」.
そして9月5日これまた自身初となる「U-KISS LIVE IN 武道館」を開催。同日の9月5日、通算4枚目のシングル「One of You」リリース、同年12月12日には5枚目のシングル、「Distance…」をリリース、クリスマス・シーズンにぴったりなバラードシングルになった、2013年2月13日6枚目のシングル「ALONE」をリリース、NHKドラマ『書店員ミチルの身の上話』の主題歌に抜擢され、日本での認知度も急上昇、オリコンウィークリーランキング最高位4位を記録。
And on Sep. 5th they held their first concert, 'U-KISS LIVE IN BUDOKAN'. On the same day they released their 4th single 'One of You' and their 5th single, 'Distance....' which was a ballad song fitted the Christmas season on Dec.12th in the same year. They released their 6th single
'ALONE', which was picked out as the theme song of the NHK TV drama,'SHOTENIN-MICHIRU-NO-MINOUEBANASHI ( A Bookstore Clerk, Michiru' s Life Story). The song added much to their fame and recorded the 4th place of the Oricon's hit charts weekly.
