Research Overview

We will try to find out if iPhone5S can receive radio waves as a receiving device, located 50m away from a transmitting beacon device.

Research Setup

・ Beacon Device
A "prototype beacon device for development" that we have purchased.
This beacon device will transmit radio waves.
Also, the radio field intensity can be adjusted with a controlling application.
This time, we will use three settings for radio wave strength: Weak, Medium, and Strong.

・ iPhone5S and a verification application
A demo application "Orireru" that we have developed.
With any details omitted, the default screen of this application shows Gotanda, and when it receives radio waves from the beacon device, the screen will change to Shinjuku along with a push notification.
