I understand what you are saying is legitimate. We are responsible for forwarding the items to Japan.
However, MyUS, the forwarding company says "What's needed is EIN of the supplier and this is required by US government." That's why I asked whether you could obtain EIN or not. Probably MyUS tried to contact you by email or phone regarding same issue. Below is the email sent from the person in charge at MyUS.
MyUSの転送法はつい最近変わったのであり、担当者にもよるが徐々に適用され始めている。現に私の同業者でMyUSを利用している者は沢山いるが、この仕入先のEINを要請されている者はまだごく少数だ。しかし、MyUSは近い将来この手続きを全ての利用者に徹底すると言っている。（現状は貴方の言うように、仕入先のEINなしで日本に転送できている顧客がほとんどである。というのも、MyUSは現在システム移行中であり、顧客の全ての貨物に対してEINが必要であるかをチェックしきれていないからだ）
Forwarding method at MyUS has recently been changed, it depends on the staff but gradually it is being applied. Actually I have many fellow traders using MyUS, but there are only few who were asked for supplier's EIN. However, MyUS says in near future this procedure will apply to entire users. (As you say, currently most customers forward items to Japan without supplier's EIN. The reason is because currently MyUS is in a process of shifting their system and they cannot check all customer parcels whether each is required an EIN or not.)
貴方の日本人の顧客で、MyUSを利用している業者（私の米国内の住所と似たような住所を持っている者）がいるだろうか？MyUSの新たな規定では、同一の仕入先から$2,500以上の仕入を行った時に、仕入先のEINが必要なようである。なので、貴方に取引額の大きい他の日本人顧客がいるとすれば、近い将来、必ず私と同じことを貴方に言うだろう。彼らが他の転送手段を利用したとしても、米国法の下では同様にEINを求められるので、やはり同じことを貴方に言うと思う。
I'm sure among your Japanese clients there are traders who use MyUS (people with similar occupation as that of mine in USA) ? MyUS's new policy is that, in case of buying that exceeds $2500 on the same supplier, the supplier's EIN is required. Given the case, if there is another Japanese client conducting a large sum of transactions with you, certainly they would ask of you the same in near future. Even if they apply other shipping methods, EIN would be required in one way or another under US laws, so I consider asking of you the same nonetheless.
私は貴方に迷惑はかけたくなかったので、2か月間MyUSに対し何度も交渉した。しかし、やはりEINなしでは転送できないと言ってきた。
1). もし貴方がEINを取得して、私に教えてくれるのならば、その取得にかかる費用を教えて欲しい。私達でその費用を負担しようと考えている。非常に安価で取得できるようである。
Since I did not wish to cause you an inconveniece, I negotiated with MyUS over and over in two months. However, after all I was informed that forwarding without EIN is not allowed.
1) If you obtain EIN and inform me of it, I'd like you to let me know the expense for it. We are thinking about bearing that cost. It seems to be done at very reasonable price.
2). もし貴方がEINは取得しないのなら、MyUSは荷物を全て一度貴方の元へ返送する（こちらが指定する別の転送会社にMyUSから送れるのかと尋ねたが、それは頑なに断られた）。もしそうなったら、貴方から私が指定する別の転送会社に輸送して欲しい。その際に必要な費用は私達で負担する。
貴方にはいつも世話になり、本当に感謝している。貴方に迷惑をかけてしまう結果となって、大変申し訳ない。

2). If you can't acquire EIN, MyUS will return all of the package to your place at once (we asked if it is possible to forward the package from MyUS to another forwarder that we specify, but the suggestion was strongly rejected). Once such is the case, I would like you to transfer the package from your place to the other forwarder I will provide. By then, we will take care of the necessary cost.
