私たちは内容に興味を持つと、進んでわからない単語を辞書で引き、また恥をかきたくない為、返信をする際には文法にも注意を払う事になるでしょう。

The point we want to tell you today is that you can learn English with SNS if wisely used.

The reason why I chose this theme is as follows: We can enjoy learning with SNS without any stress because SNS is familiar to us. What is more, we can use your time effectively with SNS.

If we get interested in the contents, we will look up unfamiliar words in the dictionary. We will also be careful in grammar because we don't want to make fools of ourselves when we reply.

下に赤い線が付いている単語はTOEIC頻出単語です。そして、私たちは１００人の学生に１日何回Twitterを使用しているかのアンケートを取り、このようなデータが出ました。
１５回以上が５１人、１０〜１５回が２１人、５〜１０回が１７人、５回以下が１１人です。これを平均すると１日に学生がTwitterを開く回数はやく１２回になります。
１つのツイートに３つのTOEIC頻出単語がこのように出ているとします。

For example, this is the tweet of the artist I'm following.
The red-underlined words appear in TOEIC frequently. Then, we did a questionnaire on 100 students about how many times do they use Twitter a day. And we got the following data.
51 students use it more than 15 times, 21 use from 10 to 15, 17 use from 5 to 10, 11 use 5 times or less. In average, a student opens Twitter about 12 times per day.
Three of the TOEIC frequent words are in a single tweet like this.

つまり１日１２回開くと必然的に３６単語に触れる事になります。仮に３分の２の２４単語がわからないとする。そしてそのうちの４分の１を調べ、覚えたとすると１日にTwitterで覚えられる単語数は６個です。これを単純計算すると１週間で４２個、１ヶ月で１８６個の単語がTwitterから得る事が出来ます。

しかし、これを全学生がもっている単語帳からこのように容易に得る事は難しいでしょう。
２つ目はyoutubeについて話しましょう。

This means that If you open Twitter 12 times a day, you will inevitably in touch with 30 words. If you don't understand 24 words; two-thirds of them and you check the meaning a quarter of them and memorize, you can memorize 6 words with Twitter in a day. Do a simple sum of this, and you can memorize 42 words in a week, 186 words in a month with Twitter.

However, it would be difficult to do the same thing with word lists all students have..
