古代と現代を行き来する面白い風呂映画です。

テルマエ技師のルシウスを演じるのはなんと日本人。
これだけ濃い顔の日本人も珍しいです。
皇帝に命じられて新しいテルマエを作ることで悩み、
タイムスリップした日本の風呂文化に触れてヒントを得、
素晴らしいテルマエを作り上げます。

ほのかな恋も漂う、一大エンターテイメント。
たくさん使われているイタリアオペラの数々も魅力です。

Translation

"Thermae Romae II", the movie currently showing. Together with its first movie, I push this move not only for Japanese people but also those of you from other countries!

The theme of this unique movie is about travelling back and forth between time and place of ancient Rome and Japan at present.

The funniest part of all is the main cast, Lucius the Roman thermae engineer is played by this Japanese actor whose Roman feature is far from Japanese.
Under the command of the Roman emperor, Lucius goes through a hard time to come up with a different and new thermae. In the end, a fantastic and unique idea hit upon him through his trip to today's japan where he gatheres hints from its bathing culture.

The movie is such a major entertainment with a pinch of romance. Don't be amazed too much by the numbers of Italian Operas incorporated in many scenes.

戦前日本はエネルギー源を森林や水力発電のような国内の再生可能資源に依存していたため、家庭エネルギーの国内自給率は非常に高かった。戦後のエネルギー革命は日常生活に様々な利点をもたらしたが、エネルギーの自給率を低下させ、エネルギー供給の不安定性を高めた。また化学肥料の普及と相まり森林資源の必要性は急速に低下した。その結果急激な都市への人口集中によって市街地の薪炭林は急速に宅地に転用されていった。戦前の都市家庭でエネルギー消費が効率的になったとはいえ、その度合いは限定的であった。

Translation

Before the World War II, Japan used to depend on domestic recyclable resources such as forestry and hydraulic power, so the domestic self-sufficiency rate for energy consumption per household used to be high. The post war energy revolution has brought various benefits to our daily life, however it has negatively resulted the decrease in self-sufficiency rate and higher instability of the energy supply. Further, the necessity of the forestry resource has rapidly declined along with the decrease of demand for chemical fertilizer. As a result, the drastic increase of polulation in the city area has rapidly diverted the firewood forestry to the house building materials. Although the energy consumption rate of the hoseholds in city before the war time used to be efficient, its ratio was limited.
