今回,定量的評価により治療に伴う急性期唾液腺障害は比較的早期より起こることが示唆された.その予防法の一つとしてアメ摂取が有効であることが示された.アメは比較的安価で日常で手に入りやすく,アメの持つ抗炎症作用により口腔内粘膜が保護され,唾液腺機能が維持できたことは,この治療を受ける多くの患者の副作用を軽減し.QOL維持に有効となる可能性がある.
