Tweets came pouring in from people who wanted to help her. She received two free laptops from people she met through Twitter. People offered to pay her cell phone bill and others sent her bus passes. A documentary filmmaker also reached out to her via Twitter and asked her to be part of his project documenting homelessness. Through that filmmaker, she was invited to speak at Twitter’s 140 Characters Conference, being held in Los Angeles in 2009.

Walsh would also attend Tweetup events in Chicago. At one such Tweetup, she met a case worker who helped her find temporary housing.

Walsh says she hopes her newfound Twitter fame will give her a platform to raise awareness of the homeless and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which Walsh said she has.

T-Ara’s “Lovey Dovey” is our new No. 1 song, replacingIU’s 4-week long reign with “You And I.” “Lovey Dovey” wins with a very high score of 983, just 17 points shy of a perfect 1000. This is also T-Ara’s third straight No. 1 song on our chart and their second chart topping hit in five weeks. “Cry Cry” was No. 1 a little bit over a month ago. 2011年はインドネシアにとって色々な意味でよい一年であったが、2012年この国の新興企業のエコシステムは全体としてはどうなるだろう。新たに若い起業家や企業が生まれるのだろうか。我々はインドネシアの新興企業のエコシステムにおいてその鍵を握る人達に、2012年に向けての経験から割り出した予測と展望についてうかがった。

"With both domestic and foreign investments already coming in, and a lot of foreign startups and established IT companies setting up base right here in Indonesia, we can say that 2012’s pace will be a lot faster, and even more fierce in terms of competition. New incubators in the country last year will prove themselves in 2012 with a lot of their incubated startups coming to the surface and that’ll prove that their incubation works. There will be a lot of new startups coming in, some of them will pivot, and others will die. But that’s the nature of the industry, and we have to be ready to win or lose."

Will 2012 Be the Year of the Dragon for Apps?

A recent report from Flurry showed that the final week of the year saw a huge number of app downloads, thank largely to the fact that so many new devices were activated over Christmas. Of course, the US stands out as the biggest holiday app downloaders by far, with 509 million downloads in that week. But I was a little surprised to see China in the two spot with 99 million app downloads, even though the country is the world’s second largest app market.
