Tencent Launched Vine-Like Short Video App WeShow

Tencent released WeShow, a Vine-like short video sharing app where users can create and post video clips or share these videos to friends on social networking services under Tencent. The lengths of the video clip span from two seconds to eight seconds (report in Chinese).

WeShow supports the login of three kinds of Tencent accounts, namely Tencent Weibo, QQ and QQ Mail. In addition, WeShow account will follow users’ QQ friends automatically. Both of these two services are not available for WeChat accounts. But WeShow users can share their videos to Tencent Weibo and WeChat friends.

TenCentがVineに似たショート動画アプリWeShowをローンチ

TenCentはVineに似た、ユーザーがビデオクリップを作成、投稿し、TencentのSNS上の友人と共有できるショート動画共有アプリをリリースした。 ビデオクリップの長さは2秒から8秒だ（中国語のレポートによる）。

WeShowはTencent、Weibo、QQ、QQメールの3種類のTencentアカウントをサポートしている。加えて、WeShowのアカウントはユーザーのQQの友人を自動的にフォローしてくれる。両サービスはWeChatのアカウントでは利用できないが、WeShowのユーザーはTencent　WeiboとWeChatの友人と動画を共有することが出来る。

WeShow has invited a lot of stars to establish accounts on the platform to attract more audiance. The service is currently only available for iOS platform. Industry insiders disclosed that Tencent has kicked of the research and development of this project at the beginning of this year.

An employee of Tencent claimed that WeShow is different from its namesake that Tencent launched in 2011. The old WeShow is cross-platform video call software based on QQ contacts.

WeShowはさらにオーディエンスを呼び込むため、多くのスターに同プラットフォームのアカウントを作るよう誘っている。今のところ、サービスはIOSプラットフォームでのみ使用可能だ。業界関係者はTencentが今年初めに本プロジェクトの研究開発に着手したことを明らかにしている。

Tencentの社員はWeShowはTenCentが2011年にローンチした同名のサービスとの違いを強調している。以前のWeShowはQQの連絡先の基づいたクロスプラットフォームのビデオ通話ソフトだった。

Foreign short video services have made constant clouts on the mobile Internet industry in recent years with the quick development Vine, Keek and Instagram. Tencent’s entry may trigger the development of short video service in Chinese market. Similar domestic services are Miaopai, Weipai and Papaqi and WeiCo+.

近年、海外のショート動画サービスがVine、Keek、Instagramの迅速な開発により絶えずインターネット業界に影響を与えている。Tencentの参入は中国市場におけるショート動画サービスの開発の引き金となるかもしれない。中国の似たようなサービスにMiaopai、Weipai、Papaqi、WeiCo+がある。

Australia’s CloudHerd Manages Your Cash and Your Cows With Ease

What was originally an idea that came out of a Tech Venture class at Sydney University is now one of Australia’s most unique startups. CloudHerd CEO and co-founder Alexander Stamp’s wanted to solve the tedious and slow process his father encountered while purchasing cows from a cattle market. The service recently came in as one of the final few brilliant startups competing at TechStars New York, on top of being one of the startups to have graduated recently from the inaugural Sydney University Incubate Program.

元々シドニー大学のテクノロジーベンチャー企業の授業から出てきたアイデアが今、オーストラリアで最もユニークなスタートアップの１つとなっている。CloudHerdのCEOで共同設立者でもあるAlexander Stampは父親が牛市場で牛を買おうとした時直面した面倒で時間のかかるプロセスを解決しようとした。 TechStars New Yorkで競ったファイナルに残った優秀なスタートアップの1社としてこの間入賞したサービスを始めたのは、最近開講したシドニー大学のインキュベートプログラムを卒業したばかりのスタートアップだ。

CloudHerd is a platform that allows farmers to manage the inventory and auctioning of their livestock. It offers an extensive list of features, which includes inventory, paddock, and property management. It has integrated Google maps, Gmail calendar, and Microsoft Outlook into its system as well. Other features for farmers include data logging, charts, email notifications, HTML5 video support, auctions system, payment management, National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) integration, and cattle genetics information.

CloudHerdは農場主が家畜の目録と競り売りを管理できるプラットフォームで、目録、放牧場、財産管理などの広範な機能のリストを提供している。プラットフォームのシステムにはGoogleマップ、Gmailカレンダー、Microsoft Outlookも統合されている。農場主のための他の機能には、データロギング、チャート、メール受信通知、HTML5動画サポート、オークションシステム、決済管理、国立家畜認証システム(NLIS)統合、牛の遺伝情報がある。

PaPa (iOS, Android) – An interesting concept that we’ve written about before, basically users can add sound to their photos. Japan’s Voicepic also does the same thing. It’s a cool concept but it might get steamrolled by the new wave of video apps coming to the fore.

Photo Wonder (iOS, Android) – Acquired by China’s mega search giant, Baidu, it actually allows users to see the filter before taking the picture, which is lightyears ahead of Instagram’s post-filter feature. But that’s not all, Photo Wonder also has an edit, collage, and allows users to download extra features like stickers and frames.

PaPa (iOS, Android) – 先に記したコンセプトで興味深いのは、基本的にユーザーが画像に音声を追加できることだ。日本の Voicepicにも似たような機能がある。すばらしいコンセプトだが注目されてつつある動画アプリの新しい波に押されるかもしれない。

Photo Wonder (iOS, Android) –中国の巨大検索企業 Baiduに買収された。現在、ユーザーが写真を撮る前にフィルターを見ることが可能で、インスタグラムのpost-filter機能のはるか先を行っている。だがそれだけではない。Photo Wonderも編集、コラージュ機能を持ち、ユーザーはステッカーやフレーム等の追加機能をダウンロードすることが出来る。

PIP Camera (iOS, Android) – This photo app departs from the traditional filter-oriented apps and has none of the usual filters you’d see in apps. PIP Camera focuses on framing your photos in different things like glasses, umbrellas, and computer screens. Fun, but a bit overwhelming.

Vida (iOS, Android) – In addition to adding pollution data to images, Vida is a fully packed app that allows filters, and sound. It’s even got its own social network. Unfortunately, you have to have an account with a Chinese social network to use it.

PIP Camera (iOS, Android) – このフォトアプリは従来のフィルター志向のアプリから出発しており、ユーザーが通常見るアプリのフィルターではない。PIP Camera はメガネ、傘、コンピューターの画面のような様々なものの写真の構成に焦点を当てているのだ。面白いが、ちょっと気後れがする。

Vida (iOS, Android) –　 画像に汚染データを追加する機能に加え、 Vidaはフィルターと音声を備えた完全に充填されたアプリだ。独自のソーシャルネットワークさえ持っている。残念ながらこのサービスを利用するには中国語のソーシャルネットワークのアカウントを持たなければならない。

Japan’s been pretty innovative with photo apps, especially with apps that mangafy pictures. Fun for friends hanging out.

Camely (Android) – A cutesy app that, according to Rick, is “almost like Instagram if it were force-fed estrogen supplements”. Most of the filters are pretty female-oriented and pink, which makes for a particularly cutesy set of pictures. Download it for your girlfriend.

Cameran (iOS) – Cameran’s got an interesting take on decorations. It’s all about allowing users to randomize their decorations. Click on a flower decoration filter multiple times and you get to see different flower arrangements. It also comes from a rather famous Japanese photographer.

Camely (Android) –　Rickによればこの気取ったアプリは「女性ホルモンのサプリを無理やり詰め込めば、ほとんどインスタグラムに近い」アプリだ。大部分のフィルターはとても女の子らしくピンクで、特に女の子っぽい写真のセットが撮れる。ガールフレンドのためにダウンロードしては？

Cameran (iOS) –　Cameranは面白い人気の飾りを使っている。要はユーザーは飾りを無作為に取り出して使うことができる。花の飾りのフィルターを何度もクリックすれば様々な花のアレンジが見れる。また日本の結構有名な写真家の写真も使っている。
