販売形態は様々。ネットでの販売形態は様々だ。買い取り・消化仕入れ型、テナント出店のモール型、直営ＥＣ（電子商取引）、さらにはサイトも商品も自社のネットＳＰＡなどがある。スタイライフやマガシークなどネット専業大手は、雑誌とも連動しながら販売する形態で、商品の買い取り・消化仕入れが多い。ディベロッパーが運営する通販サイトもこのケースがある。ディベロッパーが運営するＥＣサイトでは出店形式が多く、販売手数料を取っている。商品取扱高が３７０億円を超えたネットは運営するスタートトゥデイの直営店（ストア企画開発事業）が買取、消化仕入れした商品売り上げで１０４億円に達する。そのほかは出店するテナントの商品取扱高だ。同社は商品売り上げとテナントからの委託販売手数料を計上するハイブリッド型ともいえる。
こうしたサイトの登場で在庫をめぐる動きが活発化している。ブランドの販売計画にＦＳサイトを組み込み、在庫消化を促進するよう働きかけているからだ。こうした動きは既存のでレギュラー販売するＥＣサイトの販売機会にも関係してくる。事業全体を効率化し収益をどう上げるのか。在庫の配分はここでも課題になっている。

There are so many forms of Internet-marketing. Marketing systems such as buyback, simultaneous sales-purchase, tennant stores in a virtual mall, directory managed e-commerce, and Internet SPA with self-owned website and commodities are the types seen these days. Major websites dedicated to on-line marketing, such as Stylife and magaseek, tend to sell their products in coordination with magazines, their main activities consisting of product buybacks and simultaneous sales-purchases. Such cases also applies to some online shops run by developers. Majority of e-commerce site run by developers take form of tennant shops, from which they earn commissions. The store (a store project and development business) directly managed by START TODAY that manages a website with 37 billion-yen product billing, has made 10.4 billion yen from the sales from products obtained through simultaneous sales-purchase system. Another part of profit comes from the tennant shops' products. The company can be deemed as hybrid type who gains profit from its own product sales as well as from the commissions from its tennants.
The rise of these sites has led to an active movement related to inventory, since elimination of inventory is encouraged by incorporating FS sites into the brands' sales plan. This tandency can have an effect on sales opportunities of e-commerce sites that rely on existing regular sales methods. How can we increase the overall business efficiency as well as the profit? This is also where the question of inventory distribution becomes an issue.

ＥＣ支援も充実。アパレルや専門店なども直営ＥＣサイトも増えてきた。実店舗の販売が低迷という側面もあるが、ブランドとして実店舗とネットの販売を組み合わせて、消費者との接点を増やし、ブランディング強化、販売拡大を目指すことに重点が移ってきている。実店舗とネットは相対するものではなく、互いに補完する関係に意義付けが変わったともいえる。一方、ネットの重要性を認識しつつ、販売する方法、やり方がわからず、行動に移れなかった企業も、ＥＣ支援企業が質量ともに増えたことで、参入障壁が下がってきた。
ＥＣ支援ではシステムもネットワークを介してサービスを提供するＡＳＰなどが増え、導入そのものをサポートする企業（ジールなど）もある。写真撮影やテキストなどコンテンツ製作（ダイアモンドヘッドなど）、物流など機能ごとに強みを生かすサポート企業や、ＥＣ全体を請け負う企業（スタートトゥデイコンサルティングなど）もある。物流ではヤマト運輸グループなどがシステムや決済まで対応したり、佐川急便グループとダイアモンドヘッドが共同事業を行うなど異業種タッグも生まれている。

Directly-managed e-commerce websites has increased among the apparel business as well as specialized stores. Although the stagnated sales from the off-line stores is partly the cause of this increase, it shows the shift of focus toward enhanced branding and sales expansion through increased contacts with their consumers by combining the on-line and off-line sales of the brand as a whole. One may conclude that the relationship between on-line and off-line commerces are now regarded as mutually supplemental instead of contradicting to each other. On the other hand, the increase of companies supporting e-commerce, both volume- and quality-wise, has helped lower the barrier for the companies to join e-commerce who, though recognizing the importance of e-commerce, had had difficulty implementing on-line marketing due to the uncertainty of their marketing method.

More and more e-commerce supports have taken the form of ASPs providing system services through network, and some companies (such as ZEAL) even support the implementation itself. There are others who offer creation of contents such as photographing and texts (such as Diamond Head), support particular function such as logistics, or undertake the total e-commerce tasks (such as START TODAY CONSULTING). In the field of logistics, various innovations are being tried, as we see Yamato Transport Group handling the system managenent and payments, or companies of different industries embarking on the joint venture, as in the case of Sagawa Express Group and Diamond Head.
