2. “Of course I can get your op-ed in The New York Times.” We can’t all get ice cream for every meal. As exciting as your opinion might be to you, it’s a tall order to get your op-ed in the Times. Sometimes not even this guy makes the cut. So beware the publicist who guarantees he’ll score that fancy media placement. No decent PR pro would make such a foolish promise.

3. “Our logistical paradigm is to incentivize positive optics for your verticals.” At some ugly point in the history of PR, a bunch of fools started spitting ridiculous, nonsensical mumbo jumbo to inflate their egos and intimidate clients.

If you ever hear a PR business pitch that includes words you wouldn’t speak in casual conversation, tell the agency thanks, but no thanks. Steer clear from these jerks; they literally don’t speak your language.

4. “We no te powr oaf grate PEE r.” Amazing that in the era of spell check and search engine auto-complete, some PR firms still blast press releases with typos and narrative nightmares. Even worse are PR firms whose counsel and creative materials are littered with errors. If the agency can’t take care to ensure quality presentation on their own behalf, how do you think they treat clients?

5. “Good news—I told that reporter to go #^&* himself.” PR pros are supposed to respond artfully to media inquiries, and never lose their temper—doing so bites the hand that may offer the client positive publicity. Just as bad is arguing about a reporter’s legitimate characterizations of a news story. If the PR firm insists on becoming the story, stop paying them.


5 types of PR agencies to avoid

Just like any complex industry, public relations produces its share of bad actors who should be avoided at all costs. If you’re looking to hire a great PR firm, run far away from these jokers:

ほかの複雑な業界がそうであるように、PRの業界にも避けたほうが良いプロデューサーというのがいる。優れたPR会社を雇おうとするのであれば、次のような、冗談にもならない会社には近寄らないほうが良い。

These are various items that were in various Vintage Barbie lots that I have purchased. Most all need some type of TLC/repair (some in worse shape than others). There are way too many to describe individually. Most could use cleaning/wash. Many have some stains/staining (most of which is light). Some have some light age yellowing. Some need mending (I did not see any that were totally torn up). Some elastic issues and some need closure repairs seen. A couple items are faded. I do want to mention the Let's Dance and the Lunch Date Dress (seen on lower left of photo) both have been shortened otherwise good.

on tuesday i took it in for postage but apparently australia post have very strict size of box that they post, and the box i'd organised was 3 cm too large. ive spent most of this week searching for an appropriate box, but still no avail. if i cant find anything by monday this week, i'll refund you $30 for having to wait this long.

A: There are some minor surface scratches to the watch face which can only really be seen when examining the watch closely. They certainly do not detract from the watch at all. The strap has the slight damage at the end which can be seen in the pic. The snap fasteners have some tarnish due to wear but again they donot detract from the watch

Aviva will decide the fate of businesses in 18 non-core countries over the next year, said Andrew Moss, chief executive, who declined to say if any specific unit would be sold.

The UK-listed life and general insurance group revealed its strategic overhaul last November, saying it would focus on 12 core markets out of its current 30, choosing those that met certain scale or profitability requirements.

However, Mr Moss said on Thursday that some of the smaller non-core markets could yet be promoted.

“We say we are de-emphasising our presence in those 18 countries and you can expect some announcements on that over the next 6-12 months,” he said. “But one or two of those might come into our core list.”

yaM Labs, a Russian startup not to be confused with Yammer, has secured $500k from Foresight Ventures. The company has developed Cloud-based software to make meetings – both face-to-face and virtual – more efficient by enabling participants to collaborate on the planning, running, and execution of a meeting.

The premise being that traditional offline tools make for a lot of wasted time because meetings lack focus and ‘memory’ – you have to be there to know what went down and even if you were, often the answer is not a lot or there at least exists no actual record. Shifting these tools to the Cloud – the yaM app runs completely in a web browser – and improving them along the way is supposed to help with this.

That was Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ closing remark as he left the stage having just announced the iPad 2 at an event today in San Francisco. And that comment really summed up the vibe of the entire event. When Jobs was on stage, he made it very clear over and over again that the iPad competition out there just doesn’t seem to get it.

And the iPad 2 is really a bet directly related to that. Apple kicked things off by noting that the iPad 2 was about much more than “marginal improvements”, but the reality is that this is what many people writing about the event will see when they look at the iPad 2.
