This will be an indication of the function of salivary gland together with the secretion stimulation by citrate loading and it will be used for the diffuse disease such as salivary glanditis, glossopharyngeal paralysis, irradiation. It is also effective for distinguishing benign tumor legion with Warutin tumor and others. Moreover, FDG-PET is indispensable for the diagnosis by nuclear medical imaging today in either of partial legion diagnosis, stage diagnosis, treatment evaluation of malignant tumor of salivary gland using SUV which is semi-quantitative value as the standard of FDG accumulation.
