そんなローレン・ブッシュ氏によって2006年にNYで立ち上げられたブランドが「FEED」だ。「バッグを買うことで、世界中のお腹をすかせた子ども達に給食を届ける」というコンセプトをもとに、これまでに6800万食以上の給食を子ども達に届けてきた。FEEDにはバッグやTシャツをはじめとした様々なアイテムが揃っており、ファッションを楽しみながら社会貢献をすることが可能となる。

'FEED' is a brand launched at NY in 2006 by Lauren Bush. With a concept of 'deliver food to starving children through buying our bags', she delivered them over 69 million feeds to date. A wide range of items of FEED including bags and T shirts allows customers to make a social contribution enjoying its fashion.

2012年にローレン・ブッシュ氏が初来日し、バイヤー向け写真展が開催された。この写真展の内容とローレン・ブッシュ氏初来日の様子をミニフォトブックとして、より多くの人々へ伝えるためのプロジェクトがCAMPFIREに掲載された。

だが、残念ながらこのプロジェクトの資金調達は達成しなかった。このことから考えられることはなんだろうか。仮説だが、以下のような理由が挙げられるのではないだろうか。

Lauren Bush first came to Japan in 2012 to have a photo exhibition for buyers. CAMPFIRE ran an article about a project to pass on her activities to more people through a small Photo Book which includes the photographes of the exhibition and her first visit to Japan.

Unfortunately, the funding goal for this project was not accomplished.
What can we think of this result? We might list several possible reasons as follows:

・プラットフォーム全体のコンセプトと、プロジェクトのテーマが合わなかった
・有用なプロジェクトであるという共感が得られなかった
・インセンティブ設計がうまくいかなかった

達成した事例からなぜ達成したのかを学ぶことは重要だが、達成しなかったプロジェクトからなぜ達成できなかったことも重要だ。新たな資金調達のエコシステムであるクラウドファンディングは、まだまだ成長の余地が残されている。

・The concept of whole platform did not fit to the theme fo the project.
・It did not appeal to many people as an important project.
・The incentive plan did not work.

It's important to learn from best practices why they could accomoplish them, but it's also imporatnt to know why we couldn't. Crowdfunding as a ecosystem of new way of funding has still some room to grow.

日本での＜インサイドアウト＞は、ポートレートを撮影するためのフォトブースとその場で大判のポスターを打ち出して参加者に手渡し出来るプリンターを装備した専用トラックが準備され、2012年11月ごろから東北の被災地をまわっている。被災地の人びとの素顔が通りに溢れ、大きな屋外展覧会となる予定だ。

¥2,000,000に設定された目標金額に対して、プロジェクトは2012/12/15に完了し、228人から¥2,554,548円を集めることに成功している。

'InsideOut' in Japan is visiting the affected areas in Tohoku since November 2012, after being prepared a dedicated track loaded with a photo booth to take portraits of people and a printer to print out large-sized posters and distribute them to the participant.
It will be a large open-air exhibition displaying natural faces of people in the affected areas on the streets.

The project was concluded successfully on December 15, 2012,raising ¥2,554,548 from 228 people to the target amount ¥2,000,000.

Crowd-funding in Japan - Media Art Project from Tokyo toward the rest of the world

Crowd-funding in Japan - In this series, I'd like to introduce some case examples of crowd-funding in Japan. Crowd-funding such as Kickstarter is becoming a eco-system on a global basis which generates products, events, projects etc. as a new mechanisms of raising funds. This trend is coming to Asia.

JATA 海外旅行推進部と香港政府観光局は、来年1月23・24日、全日通霞ヶ関ビルのJATA研修室で旅行業界関係者を対象に「香港展示会/見本市セミナー（東京）」を開催。受講者募集を開始した。

同セミナーは、展示会や見本市をどのように旅行会社のビジネスにするか、日本企業が香港での展示会/見本市に出展する意義、ビジターとして買い付けに行く意義を説明する。香港政府観光局からMICEに対するサポート体制や、香港で開催されている展示会や見本市の特徴を紹介。

JATA overseas travel promotion department and Hong Kong Tourism Board will co-host <Exhibition and seminar of Hong Kong (Tokyo)> on next January 23 and 24 at JATA seminar room in Zen- nittsu Kasumigaseki Bldg..for concerned parties of the travel industry.
They began to acept applications.

In this seminar, they will give an explanation about how to turn exhibitions and sample fairs into the business of travel companies as well as the meaning of participating in the exhibition/sample fair in Hong Kong, and the meaning of buying trip as a visitor.
Hong Kong Tourism Board will provide an introduction to the support system of MICE and to the features of the exhibition/sample fair held in Hong Kong.

東京都は首都大学東京の飯田橋キャンパスで第2回MICE人材育成講座を開催。受講者募集を開始した。

同講座はMICEの誘致を促進する専門知識とスキルを備えた人材の育成を目的に、平成20年度より開講している。業界の最前線で活躍する講師陣がMICEに関する知識や実践的な事例を伝えるほか、首都大学東京の講師陣が観光を取り巻く状況について多面的な視点から解説する。

今回は「観光の今を学ぶ～観光産業のフロンティア・MICEについて～」をテーマに講義を行なう。受講料は1万2千円、定員は20人。

The Tokyo metropolitan government will hold the second human resource development program at Iidabashi Campus of Tokyo Metropolitan University. It began to accept applications.

This program is held since 2008 with the aim of developing the expertise and the skills necessary to attract MICE.
The instructors who work in the front lines of the industry teach the knowlege about MICE and practical cases. Besides that, the instructors of Tokyo MetropolitanUniversity will give an explanation about the circumstances surrounding the tourism.

現政権は日本経済再生本部を2013年1月8日に初めて開き、緊急経済対策の骨子を示している。その中にイノベーション創出の促進が見られる。現首相が前の任期でも主張していたように、経済成長にはイノベーションが不可欠だと日本政府は認め続けてきたが、期待通りの成果が上がったという話は聞かない。現首相を始め政府はイノベーションが生まれる過程を考えたことがないのではないかと思わずにいられない。

経済成長におけるイノベーションの重要性を説いたのがヨゼフ・A・シュンペーターである。

The current government convened the first meeting of Headquarters for Japan's Economic Revitalization on January 8th 2013,endorsing the outline of the government's emergency economic package, which includes the promotion to create the innovation. As the current prime minister strongly stressed in the previous term of office, the Japanese government has continued to recognize that the innovation is essential for economic growth. But we have never heard that it is performing up to expectation. I can not help feeling that the government, including the prime minister, has never consider the process to create innovation.

Joseph Alois Schumpeter is one of those who explained the importance of innovation in economic growth.

彼は『経済発展の理論』の中で技術革新として次の五つを挙げている。

1.新しい財貨の生産
2.新しい生産方法の導入
3.新しい販売先の開拓
4.新しい仕入先の獲得
5.新しい組織の実現(独占の形成やその打破)

シュンペーターは、元々、技術革新を「新結合」と呼んでいる。この名称は技術革新の創造にとって非常に示唆的である。新たなアイデアは無から生まれるのではなく、既存の知識の創造的組み合わせと教えてくれるからだ。
新結合のためには、まずは既存の秩序を解体しなければならない。

He gave following five elements as technological innovation in his work "The Theory of Economic Development".

1 production of new goods
2 introduction of new method of production
3 exploitation of new sales destination
4 acquisition of new suppliers
4 creaton of new organisations

Schumpeter originally called tecnological innovation as 'new combination'. The appellation is very suggestive to create tecnological innovation, becase it tells us new ideas are not born from nothing but it is a creative combination of existing knowledge. To make new combination, the existing order should be destroyed at first.

ただ破壊しただけでは、従前の構造以上のものは生まれ得ない。新しい多くの材料を用意する必要がある。そこから新結合が誕生する。
イノベーターたちにおける新結合の流れは秩序から混沌、さらに再編になろう。既存の知識が秩序立っている安定状態があるとしよう。そこに新たにさまざまな知識を導入し、それらを混在化させて相互作用する混沌状態へと変える。その中から新たな組み合わせが生まれ、イノベーションにつながるアイデアが創出される。

But merely destroying them can generate nothing more than traditional
structure. Many of new materials should be prepared. New combination would be generated from there. The wind of new combination turns out from the order, to chaos and then restructuring.
Suppose for a while that there's a state of stability in which existing knowledge stands in a methodical manner. By bringing a great deal of new knowledge in it, mixing them to demoralize to interact with each other, new combination would be born from there and new ideas that lead to innovation could be generated.

複数の知識が複雑に絡み合うことで、個々の要素からは予想もできない新しい効果が生じる。新しい組み合わせの構造からイノベーションが出現するのだから、とにかくできる限り多くの雑多な知識を用意する必要がる。混沌とした状態を作り出し、知識の相互作用を試行する。新たな組み合わせの構造が出現するが、これがイノベーションである。
混沌から新たな構造を洞察するのがイノベーターである。イノベーション創出には、アナーキーが必須だから、非常に広範囲な知識が不可欠だということになる。専門バカでは難しい。

More than one knowlege could produce new effect, which is unexpected from indivicual element, being complexly entangled mutually. As innovation appears from new combination structure, we should prepare motley knowledege as much as possible at any rate. Making chaotic state
and testing an interaction of knowledge cause the emergence of new combination structure. This is innovation.
An innovator is a person who gains an insight into new structure from chaos. As anarchy is fundamental to create innovation, very comprehensive knowledge is essential. A nerd would not be of advantage in this case.

A病院は、フランス有数の総合大学と評価されているB大学の医学部附属病院であり、教育・研究に力を入れている。
脳神経外科科長のC教授はフランス脳神経外科のトップリーダーの一人であり、日本からの留学生受け入れの経験もある。また、後頭蓋窩手術や機能的脳神経外科手術の件数が多いため、現在当科で行なっている診療に直結する知識を得られると考えた。
当科のD教授と親交があるため、今回ご紹介いただき、留学受け入れの内諾をいただいた。

Prof.C is one of the high-profile person in cranial nerve surgery in France and he has some experiences to accept foreign students. As they are many cases of posterior cranial operation as well as functional neurosurgery operation, I believe one can get a knowledge directly linked to medical care that we provide actually in our department. As Prof.D of our department maintains a friendship with Prof.C, Prof.D kindly introduced me to him and obtained informal consent to accept me to study there.

考えたら切りないが考えても仕方がない。

How much can I evoke the art of a piece by my design?
Does my mounting creation impress an artist of a piece?
To what extent can I creat a positive impression by my work?
This could go on forever, but once I started I cannot stop thinking.
I have no choice but to do my best.
I just have to do my best using materials, crafts and ability of what I have.
How can I do the maximum possible of what I have now?
How can I enhance what I have or my capacity?
That's all what I can do.
I will pass on the magnificence of the art of Hyogu to as many people as I can.

表具を知らないアーティストがこの世にいるということが。

もったいない。

表具の伝統技術がある人たちがただ表具しているだけということが。


表具の存在を知らない芸術家がこの世界にすごくたくさんいる。

きっとその芸術家が表具のすばらしさをしったら、作品がもっと引き立てられる。
作品が引き立てられ表具が活かされる。このwinwinの関係。

作品が彩られる。生活が彩られる。文化が彩られる。

どうしたら表具のすばらしさを一人でも多くの人に正確に伝えることができるか。

それが私の課題です。

There are so many artists who do not know the existance of Hyougu in the world.

If those artists knew the magnificence of Hyougu, their pieces might look much better.

A piece is flattered by mounting getting the most out of it： there is a win-win relationship between them.

It highlights and colores a piece, a life and a culture.
How can I will pass on the magnificence of the art of Hyogu to as many people as I can?
